Elkhart Academy K-12

Elkhart Academy K–12

Elkhart Academy is a program of Elkhart Community Schools designed to offer a supportive, alternative environment led by highly trained and dedicated staff. Housed under one roof, our unified K–12 program allows students to navigate life, discover their unique strengths, and find their purpose—all while maintaining a strong, continuous connection to their home schools.

We focus on building a safe and collaborative culture, emphasizing positive relationships with peers, staff, and the community. Each student works alongside our staff to follow an individual learning plan tailored to their unique needs. Smaller class sizes support more individualized instruction, meaningful engagement, and the targeted skill-building necessary for success both in our program and back in their home school environment.

Our Programs

Elementary School (Grades K–5)

With small class sizes and individualized instruction, our elementary program helps younger students build confidence, develop healthy coping skills, and grow academically. The program emphasizes belonging, consistency, and positive relationships, creating a foundation for long-term success. Students are encouraged to recognize their strengths, overcome challenges, and prepare for a successful transition back to their home school when ready.

Middle School (Grades 6–8)

Our middle school program offers an alternative pathway that combines core academics with social-emotional learning in a smaller, highly supportive setting. Through individualized learning plans and one-on-one attention from dedicated educators, students gain the skills and confidence needed to thrive. The program focuses on structure, accountability, and growth—helping students stay on track academically while building important life skills that prepare them for high school and beyond.

High School (Grades 9–12)

Our high school program prepares students for the future through a flexible, balanced schedule. Students attend a half-day academic session each day. For the second half of their day, the Elkhart Academy team partners with the community to provide work-based learning, internships, and other career-connected opportunities.
