Graduation

All students at Elkhart High School are enrolled in eight classes per semester and begin their high school journey following the CORE 40 curriculum, the standard for Indiana high school graduation.

During junior year, students and families may meet with their school counselor and principal to discuss whether transitioning to a Regular Diploma is in the student’s best interest. If a change is approved, it will be formally documented and added to the student's permanent academic record. This option is not available for freshmen or sophomores, as CORE 40 remains the expected path for underclassmen.

The Regular Diploma has fewer required courses in some subject areas but still ensures students meet graduation requirements.

Student-athletes must pass at least six courses during the preceding grading period or semester to remain eligible for IHSAA athletic participation.
