What is the Vocal Jazz Ensemble?
There are two Vocal Jazz Ensembles at Elkhart High School: Gold Rush and Mane Street Voices.

How does a student get involved in Vocal Jazz Ensemble?
Students earn a spot in a Vocal Jazz Ensemble through a competitive audition process. Vocal Jazz students must be concurrently enrolled in a concert choir.
 
When do the Vocal Jazz Ensembles practice?
The Vocal Jazz Ensembles rehearse during the school day, with occasional after school rehearsals.
 
Do the Vocal Jazz Ensembles perform for the community?
The Vocal Jazz Ensembles perform several times throughout the year, including the ISSMA Festival, ISSMA Vocal Jazz Finals (music qualify) the ECS Jazz Showcase, and Spring Sing.
 
Do the Vocal Jazz Ensembles compete in music competitions?
The Vocal Jazz Ensembles perform annually at the ISSMA High School Jazz Festival. In 2022 and 2023, Gold Rush made it to the state finals as one of the top 8 high school jazz ensembles in the state.
