What is the Gold Orchestra?
The Gold Orchestra is an auditioned String Orchestra at Elkhart High School, Freshman Division.
 
How does a student get involved in Gold Orchestra?
Students earn a spot in the Gold Orchestra through a competitive audition process. The prerequisite is 8th Grade Orchestra.
 
When does the Gold Orchestra practice?
The Gold Orchestra rehearses during the school day.
 
Does the Gold Orchestra perform for the community?
The Gold Orchestra performs five times throughout the year, including the String Festival, Winter Concert, ISSMA Preview Concert, ISSMA Festival, and the Spring Concert.
 
Does the Gold Orchestra compete in music competitions?
No. The Gold Orchestra performs annually at the ISSMA High School Organization Festival, which is a non-competitive event.
